*UPDATED 9/27*

I've got an idea, and man, it's brilliant. It's for anybody who wants Korean music. I'll put up a list of songs that I have. Anybody who wants some can email me a list of 2-3 that they want and attach 2-3 (good!) songs that they have to the email. I'll email them the songs and add the received songs to this list. We will be both washed over by a cleansing wave of hallyu. Sound good? Stupid idea? Let's try it. Send emails to billybrobby(at)gmail(dot)com

Here's my list (I know it's kinda lame)

POP
얼마나 - 거북이
왜이래 - 거북이
우리 재법 잘 어울려 - 성시경
고래의 꿈 - Bobby Kim
김밥 - 자두
흑백사진 KCM

ROCK
Cause You're My Mom - Nastyona
Covered - Nastyona
Song for my Father - Nastyona
이렇게 - Nastyona

Only email good songs! Ok, relatively good songs.

Man, I sent billybrobby four songs and so far I got nothing back. You're a traitor to scam your foreign brothers so, William B. Robertson.

related is my post a couple days ago about a rough guide to korean music.

http://www.eslcafe.com/forums/korea/viewtopic.php?t=66747

got some good leads, and spent about 6 hours yesterday researching and downloading songs (using soulseek -- no hangeul though!) for my own rough guide -- this one to artful indie music in korea.

i figure giving the nod to all that's good about k-music will be my penance for all the time i've spent slagging it...

i'ma post the list here when i'm done -- hopefully soonish -- and let's compare notes...

Smile

ROBoT.

I would love to promote my favorite Indie band, who you can listen to in the link in my signature, as long as people are willing to keep their ears to the ground and let me know when their next album comes out over there.

Currently, I think monkey3 is the best to download Korean songs. Fast and reliable. If you haven't tried, you have to try now. Don't wander around any more. Wink

Also, you can get your own clubbox to share files with other people you allow to join in your box. Though It seems you would need to try a proxy to make an account or ask someone living outside Korea a favor. Here's how to sign up.

Doggyji - i've got a Korean ID number that belongs to my friend's 82 year old grandma and I'd be willing to make a public(ish) clubbox account for people on dave's if (A) that would be a reasonable idea and (B) I could be sure that nobody would be able to steal the old lady's ID number. Is this possible?

Alright, doggyji's helping me get started with the clubbox thing. I've just got to figure it out so that people can upload and download things without being able to delete the whole thing or change the password and lock other people out. And I'll make a tutorial for using it if there's not already one out there. I guess it's a much better way to share things than having me email everything, so forget the Korean Music Exchange I and get ready for Korean Music Exchange II -- The Clubbox
