Seems like the Asians have a better deal as far as day to day treatment goes. They aren't seen as so life threatening, because the colour of their skin and their cultural backgrounds are a lot more identifiable and familiar.

I'm white, so when I first arrived, I was handed a golden scepter and instructed to use it in business clubs to select the women of my choice. Red carpets were rolled out everywhere I went. I was often derobed and flanked by many nubile seductresses.

My black and southeast asian compadres were scorned and ridiculed as they worked to the bone in filthy factories, feeding their families with meager substance in a cold country far from home.

My Latin friends were looked at with admiration, but met a lot of reluctance, as Koreans can't dance, and all Latin people dance tango.

I never think of anything in terms of my race.

Jaw...your original post was by all accounts riddled with mistakes, hence the responses you got.

A little more attention to detail would have gone a long way here.

I just wonder if there are Korean student out there somewhere who think "place a role" is a legitimate phrase.

Do I think that one's media influences place a role upon our peception? Why sure. If you look at Hollywood and rap music, most portrayals of American blacks are niggers running around shooting each other.

Is it any wonder koreans see them negativly?

You have to admit it's a good post. over the top. (would have been better with half, or even 75% less words and a neutral avatar.)

I don't get it. Are you all ragging on Jaw because of spelling errors? He made a fair request. There's a lot of strange-inside-joke-criticism going on here. It's like hanging out with a bunch of sarcastic wisenheimers who have been friends since high school and just sit around and watch the Big Lewbowski all day. Funny, I'm sure, when you're on the inside; not so funny looking in.

And unless you're in class, it's sooo obnoxious to correct people's spelling, writing, or speech patterns. This isn't a white bread interview forum, it's a discussion forum. A person's spelling isn't a reflection of their intelligence. Why not go rag on some dyslexics too?
