Or rather lack thereof. Ive never seen a Korean builder or construction worker using some when theyre operating a skilsaw or other heavy earsplitting machinery. Are Koreans born with special ears that can withstand any amount of abuse? If so I wanna be born Korean so I can listen to my darkcore/drillcore/gabba/panacea/currentvalue/techitch/limewax/happyextremehardcore/deathmetal beats on my way to school

*ps: insert witty comment about the reason why is because Koreans eat gimchi below*

Given that Koreans seem immune to the construction noises outside their window at 7AM, ear-splitting vegetable truck announcements going on and on, the guys at the grocery store hocking the daily specials over in the produce department, the music blasting in front of the store having its grand opening...yeah, I'd say Koreans seem particularly impervious to loud annoying sounds. My hypothesis: it's a genetic thing.

i've been to some ear-bleedingly loud gigs here and i always get snickered at for wearing earplugs or stuffing toilet paper in my ears.
i enjoy music much more when it doesn't hurt!
