alright, well this has probably been answered before but i couldn't find quite what i was looking for with the search engine. my wife has been at a hagwon for over a year now, and when we first got here we could have been enrolled in the health insurance through the school, but we decided not to. now, my wife is pregnant, and we thought it would be worth it to get insurance now, even with all the back payments. so we talked to the directors and they say that if we want to get insurance it will cost us 100000 won per month, because we'd also have to pay into the pension plan that they haven't been paying into (different story, sorry).
my question is, can my wife be enrolled in the health insurance without having to worry about the pension?
we're not nearly as worried about the pension stuff as we are about the health costs of having a baby. that's why i want to know. |

| You are legaly required to be enrolled in both. YOu have been "off the map" for the last year, so the offices don't know you exist. When you enroll in healthcare, you show up on the map at the pension office too. If you are American (or some other nationalities), you get the pension back anyway. |
