A recent link through rense.com to libertyforum.org post claims 300 US dead in a significant attack on "Forward Base Falcon". Apologies if this has already been posted, but I searched for "Falcon" and nothing came up.

Liberty Forum post Re Falcon Ammo dump

An official after action report said a mortar round caused a fire, 100 troops guard the base, no injuries reported as yet, the post also claims.

Disputes about figures aside, here are some photos of the base which suggest it was a fairly significant fire.

From the post, it sounds like an enormous quantity of fuel and ammunition burned/blew up, with significant loss of equipment, as well as personnel.

Googling it turned up the following stories:

ABC News: Fire breaks out, uncertain if caused by enemy action, no casualty reports
Fox News: Military says enemy 82mm mortar round starts fire, no casualties reported.
Michelmoore.com: similar to ABC

I might keep an eye on this story, as an official reports vs highly questionable media snapshot, see which version turns out to be closer to the truth
