I know this comes up a lot, but I am confused. I am thinking about working part time at another hakwan and I know this can be done legally, but I've been told so many conflicting things that I am not sure how this can be done. I know you have to have permission from both your original employer and the immigration authorities, but what other conditions are there? I have been told many different things for example, both jobs have to be at hakwans, or one job has to be at a hakwan the other at a public school, and that the combined working hours for both jobs cannot exceed 30 hours ( but this seems crazy as I know some full time positions exceed 30 hours alone). Does anybody out there know the actual rules so I know whether to pursue this course or not??

My first piece of advice is call immigration.

My own two cents is that you neeed a letter of permission from your current employer, a certificate of employment and a business certificate from your new one. Take it all to immi, pay a fee (can't remember but its not much), they will put a stamp on the back of your arc card. Voila. Pinishee. Its pretty simple really.

Still call immi and check though

. I'm pretty sure thats all it takes, but you might need a few different pieces of paper. But I know that its still pretty easy and painless.

The law today says
if you are contracted at a school and that school cannot offer you more than 40 hours a month, they may nominate another school, get a permit from immi and state both schools on your ARC.
It must be public school to public school or hagwan to hagwan.

Who knows if this is true? But this is what Immi told me 5 mins ago.
