Let's make this English related...
Why is it woman, female, and hostess? Why not womale or feman? or maness or maless? Or why not come up with your own words, instead of stealing all of ours? |

Given that the average woman is less interested in sex than the average man...
Oh, wait... I'm supposed to be *asking* questions...
And people say I don't have a soft side... |

Ah, crap- I started this thread, but I think I'm going to live to regret it. Qinella, I'll have to turn your question over to someone else. I'd have to say it's a priority, but it's not the #1 priority. (Phew- I hope I extricated myself out of that one alright)
As for making up words, I've tried to invent new words in the past, but they never seem to catch on. Now, the Norks, who have their own words (to avoid the usage of English at all costs)- they're the ones to consult on the invention of new terminology. Did "herstory" ever catch on? "Grrrrl" faired better. How about referring to God as "She"? The only thing that really caught on was "she-male", and that's not a reference to a woman, really? Or is it in fact a reference to a woman? Is it a reference to a woman trapped in a man's body, so in truth, it is, therefore, a reference to a woman? Or a kind of truth... Well. You can see what happens when you try to change the language.
Did I forget to answer a question? |

To quote a line from sex and the city... I may have to finish myself off once and a while but if I RSVP to a party I make it my business to come. |

it's the whole point of having sex. girls who say its not have never had one or need to switch men. if it was like a 1 out of 10 times ratio or whatever it is chicks complain about, that is seriously lame and the game needs to be stepped up by both parties.
seriously.
i have a question for ladies. Is it true that it's really hard to climax? I call bullsh*t. I think it's the same for guys and girls. |

History comes from a Greek word which had nothing to do with his or story-- Old English didn't use story either and would have used something like his tale.
I suspect that because man is a Germanic word and male is likely Latinate, each word uses the prefixes for female appropriate to its own language.
I remember when the Ford Taurus came out, and my friends were all asking, "Are they going to make a CLI version?"

I always thought you were female!! I have no idea why I thought that. Hmpf.
clitoris (kltr-s, kltr-)
n. pl. clitorides (kl-tôr-dz)
A small erectile body situated at the anterior portion of the vulva and projecting between the branched extremities of the labia minora forming its prepuce and frenulum.
I wonder if I'd be breaking the TOS if I posted a diagram... |
