When the heck did this happen? Has an Italian club signed a Korean player or something?
Was delighted to see Siena v Roma live last night. The programme on channel 45 on my cable (KBS Sky) is called Lega Calcio.
I really missed Italian football in my first year in Korea, now we have it! |

| Another incremental step towards football broadcasting normality, but what the hell was with MBCESPN last night switching mid game to the Man Utd Gunners match? No Lee Yong Pyo on the field so we`ll go over. And as for not showing Chelsea Liverpool, that just defies belief. |

| Woohoo. The mighty Juve get put down and Korean TV starts showing Serie A. Some kind of conspiracy going on here. Serie A on channel 4 was great for a Sunday afternoon. now i have to go to the pub and watch the premiership. |

| Star Sports showed the Tottenham game in its entirety. And geez, I'm not a fan of dull Italian soccer and its 1-0, 0-0, 2-1 snoozefest excuses for games. |

Serie A has often had a higher goals-per-game average in recent seasons.
Not that quantity of goals means much. As any soccer punter whose opinion is worthy of a moment's consideration will agree, it's better to watch a good 1-2 or even 1-0 than watch a scrappy 5-3 game where all the goals are defensive mistakes and shots deflecting in off Shearer's arse.
Other than United and the really big games at the top, I've no time for the EPL. It's a shower of shlt.
Sheff United, Fulham, Watford, Charlton, Wigan, Bolton, West Ham, Boro...might be mouth-watering stuff in your eyes, but to me it's garbage.
Serie A and La Liga both have their fair share of sh*te as well, don't get me wrong, but even without those cheating tw*ts Juventus Serie A is stilll miles ahead of the Prem. |

Ummm, nearly 
Roma made a move for Lee Young-pyo just before the transfer deadline a couple of weeks ago, and all indications from Lee and his agent were that he was going to Italy (think they'd finalised contract discussions and everything with Roma). KBS went out and bought the broadcast rights for the Italian season, only for Lee to decide at the last minute he wasn't going to go after all.
Still, interesting football viewing for the rest of the season though (assuming they don't end up dropping it from their schedule). |

Ascoli, Messina, Atalanta, Catania, Cagliari, Empoli, Livorno, Siena, and Reggina aren't exactly world beaters. In fact many of those teams were in serie C not so long ago. Duffers.

I was actually refering to the last couple of years. I wouldn't deny that Italian teams have a glorious European history and this isn't a "bash Italy" post. If you were refering to the UEFA champions league (I assume you were because it's the most important) your claim that Italian teams have won it more than English teams is wrong. They have won it an equal amount of times. Here are how things stand historically,
Champions League - Italy (10 wins) England (10 wins)
UEFA Cup - Italy (9 wins) England (6 wins)
Cup Winners Cup (now defunct) - Italy (7 wins) England (8 wins)
I am not sure what you meant by "UEFA" but there isn't actually much difference between the two countries as far as European club football is concerned.

I never said they were and you shouldn't imply that I did. Nonetheless, Serie A is full of unfashionable clubs who have spent the majority of their repsective histories languishing in serie C. They were named earlier. |
