Hello everyone,
I must be a rookie.... I looked into flights to Thailand months ago....most places could "reserve a seat, but not quote me a price" some places said phone back in November, so I waited... now most are saying we can tell you the price but we have no seats available "
So let me get this straight you can either know the price, or get a flight but not both???
I could really use some help/advice finding an AVAILABLE FLIGHT to Thailand (Bankok) departing Seoul the evening of December 22 this year at a reasonable price. Does anyone know the ropes about this?, so far each person says something different.
Please help this rookie find a flight I am starting to worry that I have "missed the boat" as it were.
Thanks

This belongs to Travel section.
Pretty fukhed up... what's the use of the price, if they dont have a seat, eh? Why didnt you reserve a seat, it doesnt cost a penny?
Check the travel agents listed in one of the Travel advice stickies.
many regulars have found whypaymore.com or whypaymore.co.kr to be good.
How about calling the airlines direct? This might be a good idea to get a general idea of price. |

I'm booked for Bangkok on Dec. 22. I booked about 3 weeks ago. As far as I know all direct flights were almost completely booked at that time. I have not payed for the tickets as Thai airlines has not yet set a price for the tickets. You can reserve a flight ticket months in advance without paying even a deposit. I learned the hard way when I first came here as well. |

You can reserve the seat and wait. They will tell you it's peak season (it always is peak season in Korea, trust me) and they will jack up the price 50% at the last moment. To be fair, I hear they do the same thing in Japan too.
Sometimes, Korea = the big suck. |

Try kangsan.com. Kangsan Travel is pretty good. But yes, the booking system here is really strange. |

Almost every public school finishes on the 22nd. Everybody who can afford it will be heading for the airport that day. If you could get away a day or two earlier, you'd have a much easier time finding a cheap seat (or a seat at all). |

Damn, that is steep, not exactly the W340,000 quoted right after the peak summer season. |

Yaya...that seems really pricey! Does that include hotel or something? I just checked the same dates with Asiana on a non-stop flight and the price came up as 527,000 (I don't think that included taxes). There are still seats available. |
