My boyfriend and I are moving there in a few weeks! In Daechi, to be exact.
Where are the good spots near there? Places to avoid?
yip, yip. |

| daechi is overpriced and pretty dead. not a lot of good places to eat. i work there. i would avoid living in the area and commute from neighbouring areas like kangnam, apku or gyo-dae... |

well.. good luck. some good things i can say is that its pretty clean and safe considering it has some of the wealthiest residents in seoul reside there. they have a new krispy kreme and just opened up a kraze burger joint. cheers. |

I live in Daechi, but I just got here last week. The area is pretty nice, considering how dirty some parts of Seoul can get. You can get a cab into the foreigner area relatively cheaply and the subway is very good. I haven't really been out much here, but there's an E-mart (Walmart) for groceries and lots of small restaurants. Compared to North America, the food is cheap, but people from other parts of Seoul might find it a bit more. The good thing is the apartments, although I can only vouch for the ones my school provides. Real estate is crazy expensive here, but the places are pretty clean, kind of quiet, and close to lots of small shops.
As for stuff to do, like sightseeing or shopping, you'll probably be leaving the area by subway or cab. The COEX mall is walkable, as is the giant temple across from it, but most of the typical Seoul stuff you'll want to see is north of the river. |

Jen,
can you describe to the best of your ability the size of your apt? my boyfriend and I are moving to Daechi soon, and I am scared of the apt. size. Just want to get a view form someone who has real estate in the area I am going to live in ...
thanks! |
