Was talking about it with some teachers, and they said the union is starting to dable in other issues besides teacher related affairs. Some members have been showing Anti American propoganda movies to their students (with the encouragement of the union). Union has also demonstrated aginst the free trade agreement discussions.

Biggest gripe the union seems to have is against the government's push to have an evaluation system of the teachers by other teachers students and parents. A merit system will be used if the government gets it's way and teachers will be offered a bonus of sorts if they get a good rating

What movies are they talking about?

Being evaluated by "other teachers' students" and "parents"? What qualifications do either of those groups have?

Student: I don't like teacher.
Parent: They must be a bad teacher.

Please give us more info.
