Because you hagwon monkeys taught the kids about Halloween (more so that I), they are all coming to my room between breaks today thinking I have candy for them. Thanks
I had a party for all my afternoon classes (all grades) yesterday, cost me 35000 already. I have no more candy for them |

I only have so much money I told them too that yesterday's party was for Halloween since there were no classes today. |

I didn't buy the candy especially for Halloween. I am not that rich either.
It was just some candy I had lying around from the summer.
I only ever give out candy at the end of the semester when we do a fun activity to celebrate the end of the semester.

i didn't even mention Halloween.... i'm hoping the hagwon employees kept quiet about it, too. if students do come for "trick or treat", i'll have to come up with a trick of some kind. the closest thing to candy i have is "Excedrin Migraine" or Body Lotion, and i'm not giving those out. |

I'm only mentioning Halloween as a day to scare people and I'm having them listen to a scary story. |

Oh cmon' guys...candy isn't expensive and the kids get a kick outta trick or treating. Hell I baked homemade sugar cookies for my little devils. They're just so darned cute!!! |

Almost none of my kids go to hogwans that have foreign teachers so thankfully it's not an issue. I'll be the only teacher from whom they get (one) candy (each). That and some Halloween balloons would probably add up to around W35,000, too. |

Ha, my school is paying for the candy!
We are even playing the mummy game. See who can turn their teacher into a mummy the fastest. |

OMG laogaiguk is right, my students did the same thing. They won't stop asking me for candy. I bought five big bags of Twix for 23 classes . I didn't have to pay for them though, the school gave me the corporate credit card and I went to E-Mart. I have to say 65,000 won for candy is expensive.
I bought a pumpkin and some candles on my own dime though. I've been teaching them about Halloween for about ten minutes out of each class this week. |

My hagwon has a Halloween party every year. It's the only non-academic day on the calendar (though even the older kids had to submit summaries of the movie we watched). I dread Christmas. Last year I had a bunch of insolent &%@^#* who would come and demand presents. At least at Halloween a 5 won candy will do |

I mentioned Halloween last week. What it was about and what not.
Today I walk into my lecture and say "trick or treat".
One girl got it and gave me a candy. You are the American/Canadian. You are the one with the pagan 'holiday'. Those kids/syudents should be giving you candy...not the other way around. |

I've been having a great day!
Playing extremely goofy but reasonably educational games all day. The girls (high school) are bouncing off the walls!! yes, I gave candy - but only to the winning team.
Halloween is not part of my culture and have always kept quiet about it in the past. So much so that the students were not expecting it (got kinda grouchy last year about it) and got a real kick out of it today and genuinely appreciated I was doing something for them. |

Then again, you didn't have to bake cookies for 100+ students.
FYI, fake vampire teeth scare the *beep* out of kindergartners. |
