The speaker in question, Khaled Meshaal, is stating that the Palestinians, Arabs are aggressed by outside forces, treated unjustly and there would be revenge. He is not saying Islam will rule the whole world. They will have a leadership role rather than a weak role in the world. He is trying to rally his cadres, followers. It is true, there has been somewhat of a defeat of the U.S. military. That is largely because people who reject being occupied often are able to expel, if they have the weapons, those who are trying to control them. Anyway, the way to deal with the Middle East is not with more violence and confrontation, which you may be proposing, but rather to reinforce moderates, end the conflict between Israel and the Arabs and form an intellectual alliance with those who are moderates by encouraging cultural exchanges, trade.... This fellow is hosted by Damascus. Mr. Assad would close him down if he thought it was
to his advantage. Assad does not share his religious views, and he is at the mercy of this secular ruler.
