I know that courses in Korea are not recognized back home. How are on-line courses recognized? How recognized are taking on-line courses from universities in say Canada and the U.S.?

I have some business requirements done and out of the way, but I have never take statistics. I was briefly in a non-degree program and the university was not offering courses at a proper time slot for me to take the beginning stats course, and I was given wrong advice and in something that was equivalent of a second course.

So on another note, I am asking those with a familiarity with business statistics, what can one do to teach one's self the subject (Is Shaum's guide or some other guide good?)? How would it be to take it on-line?

Any useful advice you have to give, let me know.
