Hullo,
I'm hoping to pick up a box I addressed to myself and sent (via a shipping company) to Incheon airport. I'm not sure what hoops I'm going to have to jump through on the Korean side and I'm just wondering if anyone's done this before?
Am slightly nervous as this box has most of my suitable work clothes as I've been backpacking for two months and am going straight to Korea scruffy, unkempt and without suitable shoes or winter clothes.
Any insight on location of customs office, paperwork, customs fees, opening hours etc greatly appreciated.
Thanks |

I had to pick up my dog there a couple of years ago. I don't remember well, but its pretty far from the passenger terminal. Maybe a 20 minute bus ride. There is a bus that goes between the passenger and cargo terminals on a loop. I would call the company that will be recieving your pacage and ask for specific instructions. Once you get to hte cargo terminal it can be hard to find the correct office. |

I had a bag sent over using Air Canada. I went to Incheon International and it wasn't that hard to find the Cargo terminal...there's a white bus that takes you right to it. However, once I was there, it was hard to track down anyone who spoke any English. Make sure you have the flight number and any tracking numbers that you can so you can show people. It turned out that after 4 hours of trying to find out where I could pick up my bag, I found a gentleman working with Korean Air that told me it had been sent to Gimpo Airport. His reasoning, to the best of my knowledge (I don't speak Korean) was that because it was personal cargo, it had been sent to Gimpo airport. Makes no sense to me but, sure enough, it had been sentto Gimpo. My advice is to call anyone and everyone until you can get an exact location for you cargo. Once you have that its relatively easy to find at either airport. The info-booth gals speak enough English to get to going in the right direction. |
