Damn, i love the korean country side. i live on an island, with plenty of coastal road for my huge 150cc daystar. beautiful scenery, wide open spaces, authentic korean culture everywhere. the farmers are great folk, always sporting big smiles. everyday in the summer i can hop on my bike and go to a secluded beach and snorkel. in the winter i can have a fire in the field and pass the guitar around, swapping stories and beers.
when i'm in the city, it's exciting, certainly: all the shopping, ladies, shopping, bars, shopping... but it gets stale pretty quickly. and don't think i haven't spent much time in the city. i'd lived a year and a half in seoul before my exodus.
hands down, the korean country takes the cake for this chap. |

I feel exactly the same way. The countryside people know me and I feel more comfortable walking or riding around, and it's quiet at night except for birds and crickets. But being fifteen minutes from the train station is about right for when I want to go to Seoul and shop or do things.

Whether one chooses to live in the city or country merely boils down to the individual's own needs and wants.
Why do you care so much about other peoples' lifestyle choices and why do you feel the need to justify your happiness to a bunch of strangers on-line? |

I like the more relaxed pace of the country. The bali-bali of the big smoke drives me nuts. |

No, I don't. I live in the country and hate it for a variety of reasons I don't feel like talking about on here. |

Chill. Just because you're not happy with where you're living doesn't mean you should complain about others talking about why they like living in a particular place. This is an interesting thread, as it gets people talking about reasons for and against living in the country or the city. Next time, do some research into the place you choose to work in, then you're less likely to end up hating it. |

I live in Suwon and my co-workers constantly call us "country chickens." I got a pretty good laugh out of that one the first time I heard it. In my mind, and I think as far as this thread goes, I'm a city mouse. Whatever you want to call it, I like living here. |

Motorcycle + Korean countryside = a great time
Country all the way. Can't stay big cities. In the 1year+ I've been here, I've only been to Seoul a handful of times. I don't think I'm missing anything. |
