Sometimes I wonder about some of the posters on this board.
Not so much the IQs, given that most of us have degrees, but the
absolute lack of common sense. Where do you people get your
absolutely stupid ideas from!!??

The most idiotic question I have seen on the board.......ever:

"Will immigration stop me if I do a runner?"

How about Canada, Australia or the US? Will the police show up
at your door if you don't go to work? Of course not. At the very
most there could be civil action. But this almost never happens
unless you are a star actor in the middle of a movie shoot.

An employment contract is a civil law document outlining your
work, hours, job etc. That is it! If you don't want to work anymore
what can they do? Have the police escort you to work? Chain
you into a classroom? Get real.

What would immigration do even if they did stop you at the airport?
Deport you? That is what you were doing anyway! Do you think
they would deliver you to your employer in handcuffs?

If you do a runner you are compromising your future chances to get
another visa in Korea. That is it!!!!!

I wish people would spend as much time researching life in Korea as they do researching midnight runs.

Agreed.

But I always look for the closest exit whenever you sit down on an airplane? Never hurts to prepare for the worst case scenario.

...in case an engine blows up at 30,000 feet?

When I get on a plane I'm usually too drunk to know where the doors are. Only way to fly... because if you die, it won't suck so bad.

Spot on. I don't wait for them to start serving drinks, I get plowed long before. God, I hate flying.
