Well not really but I am. Well I carry it well but I am still overweight by US standards. I keep reading how much your "look" plays in the hiring process. This is obvious because models make the best teachers. Also ponytails on men a no no?

Thanks!

I hope no one was offended at my socially awkward way of making light of my weight problem.

It's called an effective headliner. And besides, scroll through the archives and you'll see threads with, er, more effective effectiveness than that.

If you want to have the best chance of getting a job, cut off hte ponytail and any facial hair. I know people that work here with both, but Koreans generally consider either a sign of the mafia. As for being overwieght, it doens't relaly matter because Koreans already think all westerns are fat. If you are extremely obese, you might have a bit of trouble though.

I wouldn't bother cutting the ponytail. I probably won't affect your employment opportunities.

If you are signing a contract before you come here, give them a head shot picture. They probably won't see your gut nor your ponytail. If you are here when you get a job, just act professional. I know some HUGE people teaching here.
