i'm a novice web designer. i can tinker with php, asp and stuff like that. but for some reason i just cant get my head around flash.
i'm looking for someone who might be interested in showing me the ropes, or perhaps someone knows of a course in korea that is decent.
i've got a few books, as well as flash mx ... as i said, i'm just struggling with putting it all together.
any practical suggestions? |

Everyone learns differently, I know. For me, I learn by tinkering. And doing.
I learned flash thru the tutorials in the program, and then just making flash movies, one after the other. I also downloaded stuff from Flashkit and reverse engineered it to see how it worked (the site was better back then). I grabbed bits from them and used them in my own movies.
That got me into Actionscript, so I bought Mook's book. Actually, he gave it to me (he's a nice little chap).
Before too long I was doing Flash for major clients, for big money.
Eventually I gave it up. Good lord, I hate that program. It's a real displeasure to use. Every now and then I will do something, if the price is right, but I'd rather use good ol' HTML and CSS if I can. For some things, flash is perfect, for others it is bloody awful.
It can be hard to get your head around the timeline, and the fact that things can move in a flash movie. Once you understand that concept it is easier to figure out.
Hope those suggestions are practical enough. |

personally I don't like flash and have a strong distaste for sites that use it. However if you want to learn it, I would recommend the total training videos. |
