And I have barely scratched the surface. I have decided to take the plunge and make the move to teaching in Korea. I have put together a resume and set about getting some pictures ready to send. I also have been gathering transcripts etc.

Should I just rapid fire to recruiters and ads placed like the ones here on Dave's? Sort of the throw it all at a wall and see what sticks?

Thanks
Will

It can be an overwhelming process, for sure. I'm of the opinion that it's best to narrow your focus and conserve your energy. After you've identified what you're looking for (contract terms, work environment, location), apply directly to schools that advertise on the job board. But also consider selecting a recruiter that has a good reputation around here. If you're not getting good offers, send your application materials to another recruiter. But I don't see the point in throwing yourself at a bevy of recruiters. You want to work with the most reputable of the lot, and you want to take your time sifting through weak offers. When you do find something that interests you, post your contract for review on the contracts thread.

Good luck!

(Ha! I said 'bevy' ... no doubt thanks to your other thread.)

i agree w/cbp. i shot my resume to footprints, worknplay, atc, eduorange, and a couple of others, as well as posting my resume here, on hiteacher, tefldaddy, and one or two more. i was crossed with all the emails i got.

were i to do it again, i wouldve made a list of what i want: hours, pay, age students, etc, and then insist to only look at offers that met those requirements.

i suggest you open up a new email specifically for korea, initial_lastname@ mail.com, to keep things straight. i did, and am so glad; i was innundated with nigeria scam emails, asian sex related sites, requests i verify my credit card number for purchases i supposedly made (and i dont have a credit card), etc.
