I'm trying not to count my visas before they've been stamped, but it does look as though I'll be moving to Sanbon soon - my apartment will be between Gumjeong Station and Sanbon Station. Some specific questions for those who are living (or have lived) there:
1. Are there any big supermarkets - E-Mart, Lotte Mart, CarreFour, etc. - in town?
2. Does the air seem to be relatively clean compared to, for example, other satellite cities in Gyeonggido?
3. Are there any nice places to walk or ride a bike? I know Surisan is in the neighborhood, but other than that are there any parks, streamside cycle paths, or any other places to enjoy a little time outside (before I, at long last, move to the country)?
4. Are there any outdoor weekend-market areas where the ajummas and farmers congregate to peddle their wares?
5. Would you like to recommend any specific restaurants, stores, shopping areas, pedestrian malls, or any other place/service/activity in Sanbon that warrant special mention?
Thanks for your help! |

There's a nice big E-Mart next to the station.

It seemed to be.

There are great hiking paths but it might not be flat enough for bikes.
Sanbon is basically a valley town. You can explore the mountains on either side of the area and probably never run out of new places to find. |

A very nice place, plenty of good hiking close by (Gwanaksan, Surisan, the other one), fresh air, etc. 45 minutes to most places worth going to in Seoul. Roughly equal distance to another cool city, Suwon.
Overall quite a good place to live.
