| I hear that recruiters make 1 million won per contract they pull through. Has anyone known a person to find their own job through word of mouth, or visiting a bunch of hogwans AND getting the recruiting fee for themselves? |

I heard the recruiting fee went up to 1.2 or 1.3 million now. Hakwons are willing to spend extra now because there are shortage of English speaking waygook monkeys.
I think it's about time for a raise.  |

I know one person who did it, though they gave a bit less to the person. I think it happens enough, you see a lot of job ads written by teachers currently there. I always wonder about those ones more.
Usually though, while this happens more than we think (I think), it usually goes to friends or aquaintances atleast. |
