I bought this little thing at Yongsan. 3,000 won.
Basically if you have a device that you charge via your USB port (an MP3 player, a PDA, a camera, even a cell phone), you can buy this little box, slap in cheap AAA batteries, and give your device some emergency juice. I've always hated devices that run off of internal batteries because if you're half way through a long ride (plane/train/subway/bus) and you run out of juice, you're toast, unless you have access to a USB port. I've prefered devices powered by AA or AAAs because you can always slap in fresh ones. With this device, one can have the best of both worlds.
My PDA gets about 1 hour of juice on its normal internal battery, which kind of sucks if I want to use it on a plane to watch a movie. I also find in the cramp confines of economy class, hauling your laptop out to watch a movie is a pain. Now I suspect I'll be able to load up a couple SD cards with movies/TV shows and load up on some AAA batteries and I'm good to go. |

Those things are cool, although personally I'm looking for a rechargeable version. I'm a Nintendo DS fanboy and need more power:
Don't suppose anyone has seen one of these bad boys around? I'm off to Technomart and Yongsan tomorrow to try and find one. If not, then its off to this page on PlayAsia for me.
Actually, anyone know of a good place to get Gameboy parts and stuff? |
