Do any of you know of any really good legal services in Seoul? Or have any of you possibly ever made appeals to the labor board and gotten results? I group of teachers incl. myself would like to make a class action, I was hoping some of you had some advice or encouragement that might help us through this ordeal.
Thanks in advance. |

Job Help for Foreigners in Seoul: http://jobs.seoul.go.kr/
Seoul Help Center for Foreigners: http://shc.seoul.go.kr/
I've never had any experience with them in the past, but they are new offices that are supposed to help resolve employment issues for foreigners in Seoul and in particular, English teachers.
I hope that's a start. |

Go over to www.efl-law.com and go into the forums. they'll be able to give you legal advice and put you in contact with English speaking laywers. |

We know nothing about your case. You should let us know. Then we might be able to tell you if you need to go to the Labor Ministry. |

Do you mean:
a) have made a complaint and received a good result from the labor board or
b) you want to appeal a labor board ruling?
If you meant "A" then yes, I have successfully appeared as an agent for some 40 other foreigners before the labor board and they were successful about 80% of the time.
I am not sure (and I am not an attorney at law in Korea to give a definitive answer) but I don't think there is a "class action" civil claim here.
Most labor law is a criminal matter (violators are subject to fines and detention) and NOT a civil matter (like you would find in the litigious states of America) that will give an award and punitive damages to the complainant.

and NO, I am NOT looking for clients or offering to assist for a fee or otherwise. |
