Hi my co-teacher thought this one up. It's quite an exciting game.

You know how each chapter has a set of cards to cut out and play with?
Usually you play Bingo or Snatch, but this is a Rock Scissor Stone battle.

set the cards in a line between player A and player B

A B

The players point and say the phrase or sentence for each card and work their way towards each other. When they meet they do Rock Scissor Stone. The loser goes back to the first card, the victor continues on his way.

Good idea. I'll have to make some cards on my own, but I'll give it a shot in class sometime. Thanks for sharing.

Rock scissors paper, you mean? Sounds exactly like the activity promoted at the KOTESOL YL (young learners) conference in Daegu, except it was useful/frequently used classroom phrases, rather than card sets from the text book, that was the target language.
You sure your co-teacher thought of it, or is it something s/he picked up from the uni instructor who presented the activity?
Either way, it's a great activity and next time I do a camp I'm gonna use it too.

Yeah, when I was young we were so poor, we could only afford to play rock, rock, rock.
