Not to America or anything like that but I am planning on going on this trip and they have given me the bank name and account number to transfer funds into it. Now on the KEB online banking site can someone tell me how to do this?
As well if I wanted to transfer money into another Korean bank account I have, how can I do this?

I don't understand what these means.

-Items Printed on
Receiving Bankbook
-Items Printed on
Withdrawal Bankbook

thanks!

Have you applied for online banking at your branch?

Anyway I always transfer money at the cash machine....its pretty easy and cost like 1200 won and you can do it whenever

It is be possible to transfer money online, but to initially setup online banking is a tad complicated. Once you've registered for the service at the bank, who'll need to fill out some online forms, the completion of which generates a 'certificate.' Then you're good to go.
For a one off payment it's much easier to send using an ATM. The instructions are in English. All you need to know is the receiving banks account number

As alinkorea said, you need to set up internet banking at the bank and set up the certificate system on your computer. Once you've done that...

1. Goto http://www.keb.co.kr/english/
2. click on Personal Banking, Internet Banking
3. click on Login
4. XecureWeb window should pop up
5. Enter password
6. click on 학인
7. click on Transfer
8. Enter info
Account code is the four digit code you chose at the bank
Items printed on receiving bankbook is what the transfer entry will appear as to the recipient
Items printed on withdrawal bankbook is what the transfer entry will appear as on your bankbook
9. click on Enter
10. you will be asked for security card password - When you set up internet banking you should have received a small card with a bunch of codes on it. Enter the first two digits for the code corresponding to the number given. In the second line, enter the last two nuimbers of the code for the corresponding number given.
11. click on submit

Thu_Tihn,

For 'Items Printed on Receiving Bank Book' put your name. THis lets the person receiving the money know where it came from.

For 'Items Printed on Withdrawal Bank Book' put the name of the person or company that you are sending the money to. This just helps you remember where you sent the money later (when you look at your bank book and go 'I could've sworn I had more money in my account than that'). It's not necessary, but it helps.

I have been doing online banking with KEB for several years. It is a bit of a pain to setup, but after that it is really convenient.
