Would people be willing to post pictures of their apartment or housing situation? I'm trying to get an idea for what to expect over there and I've searched through the forums and not found a similar thread (maybe because the search function sucks.)

Thanks for the lighting response! I'd still like to see peoples accomodations if they have nothing better to do but post them but I'll check out that other thread and that link. Thanks again!

Here's my place:
It's a fixer-upper. And don't mind that naked kid. Think of him as an Asian garden gnome. |

haha, gd Cap'n, that place is f*ckin sweet
That's like a cozy version of my place in Seattle before I came to this lame country
My apartment here is a single room just large enough for a bed, computer desk, TV+entertainment center, wardrobe, mini refrigerator, mini kitchenette, and enough space to comfortably walk around said items
The bathrooms here are really bizarre, instead of a shower stall/bathtub the whole bathroom acts as a shower stall, with the showerhead attached to the sink and a drain in the floor. I guess the only advantage I could find to this was that if you accidentally pee on the seat it's no problem at all, and also you can do #2 while being sprayed with hot water which is very relaxing
The only problems with my place are that the plastic simulated wood floor gets permanently dented easily by pieces of furniture and I have a view of a five foot wide garbage-filled alleyway
Edit: oh, also, they don't use dryers here. You have to air dry your stuff on a little rack. It's messed-up. |

This one comes up a lot. Luckily they don't use them, the drain on the energy reserves would be massive if all the people in Asia (a lot) started using dryers. |
