Hello,
Can someone tell me how much the key money/deposit is on average for a single apartment like the one's most teachers get set up with?
Thanks. |

Would 10M won be enough?
Also, is that a one-time payment, or do monthly payments need to be paid also?
Thanks. |

10M would be enough for a small apartment in an older building.
Rent is still to be paid on top of that. |

I'd say with a small apartment like that, possible between 150,000 to 300,000W per month.
Make sure it's air-conditioned;)

My place is really small, but I have a bathroom, small kitchen, and in my room I have a wardrobe, large desk, television, large bookshelf and foldaway bed.
3,000,000 key money. 250,000 a month rent |

I've got a 1bedroom, 1 livingroom, 1kitchen, & 1 bathroom all very large except the tiny bathroom for 50,000,000 no monthly rent. I am moving in august and the people who are taking over will be paying 60,000,000.
My next place is one of those high-rise apartments. 24 pyong 3 small bedrooms, 1 medium bathroom, balcony, view, & parking. deposit 120,000,000 won no monthly rent. |

He's taking a nap. The prices he's talking about are available in 연희동, 아현동, and 염리동 (and probably more). The price for the new place is possible at most apartment complexes. |

Sorry. I have a hell of time trying to write Korean in English. Ahyon-dong, Yumni-dong, Yonhui-dong -- Mapo-gu. |

Mapo and Seodaemun area. I also looked out by Hansungdae ipgu station. The hansin & hanjin apartements there are about the same price.
If you like the Hongjae are you kind find cheaper, but the traffic is a nightmare, I lived there in '97-'98 and my inlaws still do, it's wretched. |

Thanks to all for your inputs, and thanks to the Beav for the specific example. It really gave me a good idea.
Please keep discussing if you'd like... |
