Well, we have Dec. 3 - Jan 1 off, I wanted to do Thailand, but the cheapest tixs were over 600, tried the Phillipines, same thing. so, I am looking for suggestions, I do not want to pay over 1,000 dollars for airfare for two and 1,000 for the week there. Would prefer tropical, but am very open. Any suggestions or ideas, we were thinking maybe china, japan, hong kong??? |

It is very hard. 600,000 for Bangkok is the going rate. It would be rare to find anything much below that, especially in December.
The only places where you could go for less than 400,000 return (including tax) would be: Taiwan, China or Japan.
But if I had a full month off, I'd splurge and do Europe:
www.airfrance.co.kr (click English)
Flights to anywhere in Europe for 700,000 (excluding tax) in December. |

On Singapore Airlines you can fly from Seoul to Singapore for W589,000 assuming you are going with at least one other person (group rate). That includes a flight from Kuala Lumpur back to Singapore. In a month you could see parts of Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and Thailand by riding the cheap rails... |

I mistyped - I meant the 23 - 1st. I only wish I had a month off that would be sooo nice. |

During those dates you get won't get anywhere tropical for a 500 000 won return air ticket...
If I were you i would just spend the extra 100 000 won, it really isn't a big deal in the end. Really 100 000 won is nothing in the scheme of things. Just cut down 10 000 won a week on something up until when you go if you are really that tight.. |
