So Jinro has a new, "fresh," 참 이슬 soju on the market, apparently for lightweights who can't stomach regular 참 이슬's 20.1% alcohol content.
Fresh's alcohol content? 19.8%
Obviously this is going to dramatically affect drinking culture in So-Ko. |

This new abomination will never darken my door. I need that .3%!!
Screw this 'well-being' fad. Booze should get stronger!! Not weaker!!
I guess the pink-shirted boy-men of Seoul will welcome this move. |

While I can't usually stomach the formadehyde-like aftertaste of soju in general, I did find "fresh" to be quite smooth. Reminds me a lot of the old "kim sat gat" soju years ago, or the premium stuff you get in Japan. |

I straight up have a Korean adjoishi friend who bought one hundred crates of the old chamishil (sp?) when they bought out the new one which was one percent weaker. He said all of his friends were very angry about the 1% they were losing.
I like that.
Don't mess with a Korean man's soju. |
