Right.
I need to see a dentist, sharpish.
However...
Back home, I've usually had to have taken 20mg of Valium to get onto the chair. I know everybody has a fear of the dentist, but this is ridiculous. Basically, I need to be out cold, though still quite happily breathing, in order for it to work. And this is just for a check up. I really can't be conscious. I've tried many times, and each time it's led to a near-broken chair, a violently angry and frustrated dentist and absolute no improvement to my teeth.
I've looked down through the FAQ, but there doesn't seem to be anything posted about this type of thing.
Do you know of any Korea dentists who will give anything near full anaesthesia, laughing gas or who would be willing to punch me unconscious every five seconds for about half an hour?
And no, I can't just "get over it". |

I'm looking for similar treatment: teeth neglected to the point where I just need to be sedated and wake up with a new set of choppers. I'm not in Seoul, but I could get myself there if such a scenario were possible. Anyone? |

I can't answer your question, but can offer some advice (assuming your Korean is not fluent) -
Seek out a dentist who can speak English, or take along a K-friend who is fluent in both languages to translate.
Not being able to communicate will only compound the problem presented by your phobia. |

Check your pm inbox.
Got a lot of pm's about this today.
If anyone would like a referral to a top-notch English-speaking, American-trained (Ph.D.) dentist in Seoul, pm me. He's been a dentist for a long time, has a state-of-the-art-practice, an outstanding rep, and is the best one I've ever had anywhere I've ever lived. |
