Shaving cream $5/can, Shampoo $8/bottle
Are these normal prices or is this just because I'm in a rural area?
What are these things at Emart?

when did Korea start selling in dollars? ARe these US Dollars, Canadian Dollars, Singapor Dollars, Hong Kong Dollars? If you are in Korea, at least tell us the price in won so everyone can be on the same currency.
Hell I've been here so bloodly long I don't even know how much anything costs in Canada anymore. |

Buy yourself a badger brush (new one 10$ plus delivery on Ebay), some eucalyptus cream shaving soap (8 Euros for 500g from an Ebay seller in Germany). I cannot stress enough how superior a shave it provides to those ozone-depleting cans of shaving foam, plus the soap will keep you going for almost 2 years and the brush should last you a lifetime. |

I bought a Gillette shaving cream for 5,000 won yesterday. Can't remember about shampoo. |

It's usually like shampoo small bottle for 8000, shampoo 3 year supply for 10,000. Now I have a 3 year supply of shampoo, mouthwash, and dishsoap. |

Good brands.
And most importantly last for MONTHS.
We are not talking about a big expense. Geez. If it was something you buy every week or every month then maybe. Otherwise, much ado about nothing. |

Yes, these are normal prices. There is no brand equivalent to Suave here. And any brand that makes it to the W1,000 store truly stinks in my experience. |

I agree that shaving cream is expensive here (so I usually get a can when I am visiting home). Why so expensive? Maybe this stuff isn't made in Korea. Anthing imported in this country is outrageously priced.
As for destroying the ozone layer with shaving cream cans, aren't most brands cfc free nowadays? |

I bought two razors for 5,000 yesterday. Ouch. I guess they can charge whatever they want when tehre is only one kind of women's razor.
What do Korean women shave with? I see them shaving at the sauna. |

Most of the women I've dated here don't shave their legs. I also get the feeling that men don't shave very much, either. That would explain the lack of variety for shaving products. Oh wait, I forgot I'm in Korea. Okay, that explains the lack of variety, nevermind.
Aboot shampoo being expensive.. wouldn't know. What are the prices in the US? I always bought Suave so I don't know what the other stuff cost. |

Yes, shaving cream is expensive. It usually cost around 5,000 Won here for a small bottle. In the US I can get a big can for about 1,000 Won ($1 US). |

Bought myself an old Gillette safety razor (sterilized the whole thing, alcohol, UV lamp, etc) and 100 blades on ebay. All in all, 60$. Excellent shave, but I prefer using straight razors (got a nice collection, some are mint 1920's blades worth 200$). I got the safety razor because using straight razors can be time consuming because the blade must be stropped everytime to make it extra-sharp to prevent nicks and razor burn. |
