Hi
Can anyone recommend a good hostel in Rome?
I'd like to be in the city centre, near a metro stop, but not too near the Termini.
Thanks

better than hostels, try homestays, or minbaks. And I mean specifically Korean. Theres one very close to the termini, I mean right across the road. Its hidde, but theres a Korean restaurant a block away from the main entrance to the termini where you can find the advertisement of it. if its still around. I paid 13 euros per person which included breakfast and dinner at a Korean restaurant and free internet access. Went with my wife and saved tons of cash that way, we pretty much only had to pay for acess to museums and touristy sites as well as lunch. |

the Alessandro Palace in Rome is awesome. i stayed there when i was backpacking europe a few years ago. really friendly staff, cool guests, and a bar downstairs. they even had free pizza night a couple nights a week.
about 10 minutes from Termini on foot. walking distance to everything.

Stayed at Tiber Camping Roma this summer. Not bad but the beds were terrible. Good swimming pool and restaurant just a little outside the city but connected by metro and then a short 5 minute shuttle bus to the campground. Found it on Hostelworld.com. Took about 40 minutes to get to Termini. |

I have to agree with the Alessandro Palace. I lived in Rome for a month and stayed there on my way back through. It was recommended to me and I was very pleased.
Rome is awesome, and beautiful at Christmas. Have a great time. |
