Does anyone know which is the best phonecard for calling the UK from Korea? Also, is it available online? I'd really appreciate any advice.

Just go to a corner store and most of them have rates on posters. I use a good one to call the US, I get 4 hours for 10,000 won. You can call 080-6760-114 and probably buy a passcode from there.

I use 'For you'. Phonecard costs 13000, then you dial through a freephone (0806) number and get 5 hours talktime to a UK landline. If you're calling mobiles or 'national rate numbers' (eg 0870s etc) you get about 2 hours I think....

Get on SKYPE.com and buy some SKYPE minutes. Comes out to around 2 cents a minute, though you have to dial from your computer. If you can talke computer-computer, it's free. Great way to keep in touch on the cheap, and great quality.

Cheapest one I found was the 'ISLAM STAR' one. you can buy them from the phone stores on hooker hill in Itaewon.

They're great, I get over FOUR HUNDRED MINUTES to a UK land line.

It says 19,000 on the front but they sell for 15,000 WON. Not bad for the ammount of time you get. And I researched it a lot and used a lot of others, but I can honestly say that at least at those stores, this is the cheapest on on the market for calling to a non commercial UK land line.

Ignore the above...

If you really want a phonecard then www.cardstation.net is the best source..

However, if you were smart what you would do is download a program called VOIPStunt... essentially Skype but cheaper and with an added bonus...

Put 10 Euros into your account and you are given 120days of free calls to various locales... one of those is UK Landlines... so you get 300 minutes of free calls per week to UK landlines, US landlines and mobiles, Korean landlines and various other places around the world... unlike Skype too your credit will never expire and the quality is excellent...

There's also a feature on there which lets you route the call to your phone... so if you want to speak from your cellphone, you'll have to pay the 4 cents a minute fee to connect your VOIPStunt to your cellphone if you do that, but if where you're calling is within the free minutes then you don't pay for that call...

I buy Serome phone cards from my corner shop. They cost 10, 000 and I get just over 5 hours to a UK landline.
