Awww, that's cute. I started at 60,000. And I went to a cheap school. I'll be free and clear in less than three months. Thanks to the fine hagwon system of South Korea. |

Just finished paying off a particularly stubborn $42,000 monster.
Ominous bureaucracy. |

I just took on 50 grand more this year. For just one year. With a grant as well. Fantastic.
The subsequent years of the program will be free, but DAMN, it's just too expensive. |

Computer Science co-op program. Study first year, work in the summer with a job set up through the university (between 12 and 19 dollars and hour, depending on experience). Then study one term, work the next. Had to study in the summer sometimes, and it took 5 years instead of 4, but eh... Got 2 years of valid work experience too. More and more universities are setting up these co-op programs. I chose my university purely for the good computer science program and the co-op program. |

Actually I just started teaching writing to some Korean undergrads--the money is just as good as in Korea if you have the connections... |

mine is at nzd $5,700 (and i know that is like a drop in the ocean compared to some of my north american and british counterparts) and thats cause i stayed at home during uni and worked two part time jobs to pay for transport (my car) and text books but mine is being reduced at a much quicker rate thanks to my quarterly installments.....
so that the reason why korea was best suited to my financial needs...
cheers

im a sucker who owes around $25,000 USD, and i didnt even pay tuition, my dad is a disabled vet and i got to go to school for free.
i went to college for 7.5 years, changed my major 5 times, and eventually earned two BAs. i used loan money to travel. my trips to Ghana, Togo, England, Scottland, and Germany were all courtesy of student loans.
edited for spelling.
