Hi Everybody,

myself and a few friends are off to the Phillipines for Christmas and was just looking for a bif of advice. I have never been before so was just wondering if anyone knew of any good, but mainly cheap places to stay in Boracai. Not looking for the most popular place but on the beach would be ideal and we all dont mind sharing the same space, hut or whatever if that will bring the price down.

Thanks for your advice in advance!!

Dean.

Dean, post this on the travel forum. You could possibly find a place in advance, but there are so many hotels in Boracay and they are so easy to find that it isn't necessary.

When you get off the boat you will have several touts who will recommend something at your price level. Some people like them and others find touts irritating because the price will be a little higher because of their commission. If you want to find your own place, tell them you have a reservation and head for the southern part of the beach where there's lots of cheap little mom and pop hotels with cabanas on stilts. I stayed at 'Roy's Rendezvous' in 2004 and it was something like $15 a night.
