Yesterday, my boss was looking for me needing my help in desperation. While I was hanging out in my Korean GFs apartment, my GF got a call from my wonjang asking for me (WTF!). At this point, I was shocked and kind of freaked out because I had never mentioned to her about my GF. She told me that she was looking all over for me. She said she even called XXX health club and XXXX and XXXX bars where I usually hangout which I also never told her about (More WTF!). She did all this yesterday because my cell phone battery died and I didnt realize it until my GF got a call from her.
I just dont know how in the hell she knew all my hangout places including my GF and her phone number. I asked her how she knew all the places to call including my GF and she just brushed it off and started talking about the help she needed.
Anyway, its just freaky. Has anyone had similar experience where your wonjang is prowling around your personal and private business? |

I had a boss (for a short time) who would withhold pay depending on our bank account. "You don't need all your money today because you have X in your account. I'll give you the rest next week." |

Oh! I forgot about that too.
I became suspecious about my boss prowling around my bank account where she deposits my pay each month so I ended up opening a new account at another bank.
I now withdraw everything from the first account in CASH and deposit the money into the second account at another bank. And I do all my personal transactions and wire transfers to my foreign account from the second account hoping that she would not know about my offshore account information. I hope...... |

I have always had that "big brother is watching" feeling here too.
One day I was hiking in the mountains alone and suddenly my cell phone rang. It was my boss!!! How the hell did he know where I was??????
Difficult to really know what actually goes on here or if it is just silly paranoia.
The only truth you find in Korea are the lies you choose to believe. |

Um, unless you're leaving something out, this makes no sense at all.
You do realise that you don't have to know where someone is to call their cell phone, right? That's mainly the point of them. If you knew where they were, you could call the landline.

Really? You mean it doesn't matter where I am, people can reach me on the cell phone?
I knew one of the mental giants on this forum would bite. |

When you live in a big city, I guess it's suprising that people know where you are and what you're doing with your free time, but since I've been living in a small town for quite some time now, I'm not at ALL suprised when someone says "Hey! I heard that you were....last night!"
Actually, the "web" is even bigger! A co-teacher of mine called his friend in the States and said "Hey, I have some suprising news about someone." And the friend (Rhyst!) said "Yeah, I know...ajuma got married!"
I STILL don't know who told him first!! (So...Rhyst...give me a clue!!! Who was it that told you...or your wife??!!!) |

Maybe your boss setup Friend-Finder on your cell phone, they can track your location anytime they want. |

Yes.
Never walk the same route to any of your hangouts more than once!! Get a disguise, too!
Quinella ought to hurry up on the double on this front due to the Nigerian-Americans hunting him down for the white flesh trade in the Middle East. |
