So I got a new computer and I thought I would put my old 40gb drive in my computer.
I pull out my old hard drive and try find a slot on the motherboard that looks like my cable. But my plug is too big for something that resembles it.
The plug off my old hard drive has 32 pins. My new hard drive has less pins. Will it be possible to install my old hard drive? |

It should plug into the same cable as the CD/DVD drive.
That would be your IDE drive cable. Make sure you have the jumper set for master/slave on your old drive (probably master) and the CD (change to slave).
Your new computer probably uses SATA or SATA II drives for your main HDD, |
