The Seoul Veggie Club is looking to have two meetings in December, the first to be on December 9. I've put up a poll at the link below, so you can vote for lunch or dinner and then for which restaurant to go to. RTeacher really wants to go to Sanchon, I'd like to check it out too but am open to anything.

Yes, you'll have to sign up for Galbijim's forums but Dave's doesn't allow for two-tiered polls like this, and I want to get a good gauge of how much people want to have lunch instead of dinner.

Also, our forums are just cool anyway.

I suggest having a poll on this forum/thread also and combine them ... That way those of us who are smart enough to register on both can have our votes count twice. (Pure democracy is not very good ...)

Ha, well I'd rather not have double-voting.. anyway, the Galbijim poll lets you vote for time and place at the same time, which is better I think.

I've got three RSVPs so far, so if you plan on coming please let me know and definitely vote!

I went to SM Ching hai last Sunday, and I was surprised to find that they were closed. The sign on the door said they were in Thailand for a "vegetarian seminar" for the whole week (reopening Dec. 4...) It also recommended customers to try out the Vege-love Buffet in Hanti (eighth floor of the Lotte Department store, Hanti station, yellow Bundang line...) Since I was hungry, and it wasn't that far away, I checked it out, and it was very good. It was somewhat smaller, but the buffet was very good, and it was cheaper at 9,500 won...

I think I've decided to change my vote for Sanchon dinner for this Saturday - it makes more sense to go there first for a Sunday lunch sometime... I'll opt either for the "Vege-love" or to the SM Ching hai (to see if they learned any exciting new Thai vegetarian recipes from their weeklong seminar ...) SoSim in Insa-dong would also be OK with me, but there's less variety ... I don't know if the new places you've mentioned are affiliated with SDA or not, but if they are they won't be open on Saturdays...

SM in Poi-dong is always closed on Sundays, isn't it? IMO, Sanchon is a great place for a meeting (even though I can't be there and obviously can't vote). So-shim (sp?) is very nice too. I think the two SDA places in northern Seoul near Hoegi Station are open for dinner on Saturday, aren't they? They just don't serve dinner on Friday or lunch on Saturday, as I recall. Country Life near Sinsa Station is very nice too, but I always found their hours kind of inconvenient ... I don't think they serve dinner at all, do they? So most working people would have to remember to get out of bed on Sunday in time for lunch. Evil or Very Mad

They certainly do, we had our last get-together there! Great place.

RTeacher, since you seem to know, which places are 7th Day Adventists and which aren't?

Really???! That's great ... I think a few years ago they were only open for lunch, and closed on Saturday.

I'm not Rteacher, but the SDAs seem to have tons of veg restaurants these days. I haven't visited them all, but I've been to Country Life (near Sinsa Station), two others near Hoegi Station, one near Jeongja Station in Bundang (Salem?), one near Sunae Station in Bundang (Paris or Pari?), and one in the Insadong area. Country Life and the two places up north seemed to be the best, and their prices were reasonable too.
