So, I've been chatting with a nice Korean girl on MSN lately. Unfortunately, I have no idea what she's going on about. She uses all these cutely little symbol things. I know they must mean something, but I'm pretty much lost. Help a brotha out???
1 ^^ I think this means happy?
2 ^ uh, kinda happy?
3 ~~~~~ after a word or sentence.
4 kkkk = okokokok???
5. tttt or sometimes t.t. or tititi, etc. no idea.
Uh, those are the most common ones. If anyone knows what's going on here, I'd me most appreciative.
Hubba
PS, if you know any others, post them, I'd like to play the game with her. ^^
(I suddenly feel very embarassed for myself) |

That is funny because I had the same problem when I started dating my korean girlfriend. She used all these wierd little symbols in her phone messages. Some of them I still don't get.
I think the kkkkk means that she is laughing. My girlfriend uses the ㄱㄱㄱㄱㄱㄱ in her phone messages. Might be the English version of it.
I think the ttt or tititit might be her version of giggle. I see messages with ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ which is more like a kikikiki little giggle.
The ^^ does mean happy of smiling.
No idea about ^, might be a wink.
Sorry no idea about the others. |

^ is probably a typo for ^^
~~~~ adds emphasis. imagine a korean girl's whiny voice stretching the last syllable out.
If you can type Korean, ㅠ.ㅜ is crying, ㅡㅡ; is upset, ㅎㅎㅎ is chuckling, 푸하하하 is busting out laughing, ㅂㅂ is goodbye, and 어젯밤 나 다른 여자랑 잤어 is thumbs up. |
I thought ㅡㅡ; is what my students mean when they say 'Oh, difficult!'. Sort of embarrassed, confused, and uncomfortable? |
