Could be a very simple thing, but, duh, I don't know.

The screen on my computer will go dark if the mouse doesn't move for about 2 minutes. No big deal, but sometimes a bit annoying if I want to watch something from a distance.

How do I make it stay on, and not go dark?

And that setting is...

Monitor power down after X minutes.

Or your screen saver (none) is coming on quickly.

When I click Power Options, I get this message: "To adjust power management settings, close Microsoft Windows XP Power Options and use TOSHIBA Power Saver." Then when I click TOSHIBA power Saver, nothing happens, so the screen still goes dark after a minute or two.

Right click on your desktop and select 'properties' from the dialogue that appears. under the 'screen saver' tab, you will be able to adjust both your power settings and your screen saver settings.

right click on the desktop and go to properties. Then do the following:

-click on the tab that says screensaver
-under monitor power click on the button that says power
-under "power schemes" choose always on
-then under "settings for always on power schemes" switch everything to never.
-click apply
-click ok

That's it.

Then make sure your screensaver is changed accordingly.

For some reason it won't let me click on anything under "screensaver" ... it's all "grayed out" ... hmm... strange little annoyance.
