Help! My computer has recently decided to not access some websites or only parts of them. Two of the many sites that don't work are hotmail and worknplay. It is driving me crazy that I can't check my email.

With hotmail I have been getting the same "server too busy" message for days and with worknplay I can enter the site but my computer won't ope any of the job positings. Similar things happen on other websites.

I tried deleting my temporary internet files and history but that did nothing. I even tried a system restore to a few days ago when everything was working fine and that didn't help either. I set all my web settings to defualt - nothing.

Any suggestions?

Perhaps try using a proxy server? Go to this website.

http://www.proxy4free.com/page1.html

If you are using Internet Explorer, go Tools>Internet Options>Connections>Lan Settings. Then, check the box that says use proxy server. Enter the IP address in the address box. Enter the port number in the port box. Now, on that web page, not all the public proxies will work. Try one that does, then check out the pages you were having problems with.

If you are using Firefox, go Tools>Options>Advanced>Network>Connection Settings. Then, enter in the proxy numbers. I hope this fixes your problem, good luck.

Check out this site, it's good for a laugh.

Or maybe a different brower would work? I don't know as I'm a neophyte with computers, but IE is not great. I think Firefox or Opera is a better option.

the proxy thing didn't work.

could it be a problem with my wireless internet?

I just don't get it, everything was fine until a few days ago...and I haven't changed anything...

Can you elaborate on the whole proxy thing not working? Did you try more than one? Some of them do not work. If you can find one that does work, does it still exhibit the same symptoms you had before?

the proxy thing doesn't work because i'm pretty sure i have no idea what i'm doing.

i think i've figured out the problem, it's my wireless router. i think i screwed something up when I attempted to add a password (which didn't work because i don't can't read the Korean instructions) i think i did something which has blocked out some websites...

i think i may need someone who reads korean to help me fix it...
