I am interested in possibly working overseas next summer. I have a BA in English, a CELTA, two years teaching experience (including work as a program co-ordinator for a "Canadian Employment Skills" course in Canada in which I taught ESL to Korean university students and then arranged internships for them at Canadian companies), and I will be halfway through a two-year B.Ed in Secondary Language Arts (with an "undeclared" minor in ESL). At the junior high where I'm doing my practicum, I work extensively with students who have recently immigrated from Korea.

BUT, I'm definitely only interested in going overseas if I can make a good quantity of money. I would prefer if the program included airfare and accommodation. I would like to end the summer with about $8,000 CAD in my pocket. Do opportunities like this exist? Where and when would I need to look?

Thank you!

You could find that, though adding in the airfare might be a bit too much. Most camps offer about 3000000 (including airticket) + housing (though the housing is never really that good, usually shared). They may also not like you very much due to your qualifications. A camp is not teaching. It's being a monkey for 6 days a week Smile

If you are only half way through your degree you will not be able to get a Visa to work legally.

I had assumed she already had one and was doing a consecutive BEd.

Yes, I already have a BA in English. I should have mentioned that. Where I live it's impossible to do a BEd without a prior degree, and I forget that it's different in other places.
