And you suggest...?
I think I trust the opinions of Korean politicians in Seoul over an editor in California. |

To do what exactly? Know more about the situation, and what's best for SK, or to say something that more closely echoes your own opinion? |

Yes. Yes. Yes.
Roh is the #1 arseclown of world politics. He even looks like a clown.
Roh is the product of years of Nork propaganda that penetrated that society. What he believes, and what those people who voted for him believe, are 100% constructions of the NK propaganda machine.
And his government is literally filled with NK spies. |

A MONTH AFTER North Korea tested a nuclear bomb, making the Korean peninsula a more dangerous place, the peninsula's other nation stepped forward with its response. Or rather, its lack thereof. On Monday, South Korea announced that it would impose no new sanctions on its northern neighbor.

It's not immediately clear to me - and probably also to soth Koreans - how the presence, alleged presence, of a nuclear weapons in the north makes the peninsula a more dangerous place.
Japan, Guam, maybe, but Korea? I think not. |

The question of Korean sanctions, and their possible effect on NK behavior, is mostly academic, given that Sugar Daddy China is commited to maintaining the status quo in Pyongyang.
Both Roh and his opponents are operating under the same false assumption, ie. South Korea has all this political capital with the Norks. Roh thinks(or at least claims to think) that KJI is so enamoured of the Sunshine Policy that he is planning for the rapid reunification of the peninsula. The GNP and their fan club think that cancelling Sunshine will help force KJI to see the light of nuclear responsibility. However, even if it WERE the case that South Korean aid is pivotal to maintaining Kim's power, then China would simply increase its own charity to make up for the cancelled South Korean aid. And I personally doubt that Seoul's assistance is that pivotal, in any case. |

I've got to admit that I don't really follow SK politics and don't really get much input on Roh. A few adult classes like to tell me that Roh and Kim Dae Joong aren't that great, but then again I'm in GNP heartland Gangwon-do. Even so, the main issue these guys cite is usually to do with the economy, and they feel NK are doing fine as it is.
So BJWD I'm curious to know where you get the idea Noh was formed by NK propoganda, and that the current government is "filled with NK spies". Literally?
Claims like that evoke that 'conspiracy theory' air, don't they? Wouldn't it be better to simply say you disagree with the sunshine policy? |

If the Roh admin really was filled with NK spies(as opposed to just sentimental nationalists), I think they would at least have abolished the National Security Act by now. Plus, I don't think Roh would be pushing a Korea-US FTA like he has been. |
