I heard a rumor this morning. I couldn't verify this, but I was informed that plans are being made to raise the price of cigarettes to 5,000 won; the price of foreign cigarettes to rise accordingly. Has anybody else heard anything?
I wonder how this would affect other smokers. I know that smokes are about ten bucks or more in some parts of Canada and four to five in some parts of the US. Don't know about other places...
The point is that Korea has been referred to as the "smoker's paradise" by some. I supppose this tag is now outdated. |

All right, next year 3000K/won, and then plus 500 fallowing years until 5000K/won a pack. I don't smoke, but I like Korean chicks who do, find it sexy in a way. |

Call me naive but I'm all for the hike as that may stop middle schoolers and high schoolers from smoking so much if they can not afford to buy their own...sure they can bum them off their friends, but someone will have to buy them, won't they? 1000 won for cigarettes, that's just too cheap, in my opinion.... |
