I played the demo of fear and there's one of those armoured guys at the end, they are tough SOBs.
So is Extraction point as good as the original? Any HDR in FEAR?
Nice anti-aliasing in that screen btw. |

Yeah thanks. I have everything maxed out and it runs with 0 studdering.
The expansion pack is a bit harder in that you get ambushed by 10 times the amount of guys and their aiming has much improved (even on the normal difficulty). There was this one part (I almost S.H.I.T.) where your buddy (the guy) says, "there are 40 motherf.u.c.k.e.r.s. on their way to you....if you have something up your sleeve, you had best do it now". I couldn't believe he said that (something close to that). I was thinking...."no way". THen BAM!!!! There was a swarm of them lobbing grenades, shooting, doing all kinds of crazy crap.
I just boxed myself in behind a container and threw out the automatic guns. They took care of some of the guys while I messed up the rest. Some of them even appeared on the roof so they could hit you regardless of what you hid behind. |

Although that certainly has it's fun moments, I think the expansion pack should have been a free download, like combat is. I mean, it really is just more of the same with the difficulty raised and some new weapons. Good game overall, but a bit disappointed with the expansion.
CL, what res are you playing at? |

1280 x 1024
I remember you telling me about some higher resolution - though, I haven't had the time to look for the mod that allows it to play at those settings. |

FEAR is the king of indoor environments, yes. And it's the game that's brought me back in to enjoying multiplayer FPSes again.
But I've just gone back to try Far Cry on my new rig and have fallen in love all over again. Far Cry is the king of outdoor environments.
What game will finally match the two and become "the one that rules over them all"?
HL2 comes close, but no cigar. Plus I found the multiplayer weak (don't know if that appiles to team fortress or not). |
