Study shows why young shun condoms

Quote:
Social and cultural factors, not just unavailability or ignorance, influence why young people do not use condoms, researchers said on Friday.

Some sexually active under 25s associate condoms with a lack of trust, while others believe carrying them could imply sexual experience, which might be a plus for men but not necessarily for women.

In a review of more than 250 studies of young people's sexual behaviour, researchers at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine discovered striking similarities in what affects young sexual behaviour in different countries.

I don't use condoms because they make sex less enjoyable...I thought that was the standard reason.

Umm can I get a job researching with them? 250 people around the world in their study? That sounds like a 1yr paid vacation for one dedicated researcher. I can research hard. Really hard. I'd be a real good researcher. Can I borrow your girlfriend? I got some research to do..

See, if we just adopted a more sexually liberated policy, such as those found in A Brave New World, or a few Heinlien books, the world would be a better place. There'd be no shame associated with sex and you could get around to implimenting real educational policies for it. You'd do away with all this "if I have a condom, he might think I've had sex before!" or "if I have a condom, she might think I expect sex!". It's nonsense. Korea could certianly do with a dose of sexual liberation. The whole "I'm a virgin, even 2 years after marriage" thing is just tired.

Trying to get a nut off in a condom is like trying to get a hamburger without sauce on it in Korea. Sometimes you get lucky, usually you just give up trying, disappointed.

Incidently, to those who hate condoms, what's the herpes incidence in Korea?

Hmm, but there are times when this can be useful, like if you wanna have some crazy marathon sex to impress her. To keep going for a really long time without a condom can be a challenge, especially if you've gone a few days or more without (can be too much sensation without a condom). Whether you care about it or not may be another matter. Just saying.

I agree though, bareback is generally the way to go (disease and unwanted pregnancies aside).

Men, One good way to get used to the feeling of wearing condoms is to pleasure yourself with them. You may find that you cant have an orgasm with out one!
