I know sometimes it looks as if the whole country is auditioning for a remake of The French Connection but what are you favorite driving manoeuvers?
I go for the old Clint Eastwood "This one way alley aint big enough for the both of us and I don't care a damn if I am going down it the wrong way....me man.....me smoke and use cellphone while driving mid size family saloon and me don't give a damn about you"
Vent please.

Personally, I prefer the move (usually by taxis and bus drivers) of crossing the center line into oncoming traffic to go to the LEFT of the people waiting in the left-turn lane.
I take the bus to and from work for 20 minutes everyday. It seems statistically inevitable that my bus will be in a major collsion before I finish my contract. |

Darting into an intersection a full second or two before the lights actually turn green or after the light turns red. It's a miracle I haven't seen any accidents. While on my motorcycle I wait a full second or two AFTER the light turns green. I'm not take'n any chances! Course, drivers behind me honk their horn thinking I'm holding up traffic. They sure are an impatient lot. |

Turning off your headlights and hitting the road in the middle of a rainstorm seems to be a popular one.

The closest I ever got to being in an accident here:
In a taxi barreling down a 4-lane street, coming up on an intersection. We're in the left lane and an 18-wheeler is in front of us. ANOTHER 18-wheeler is on the cross street, turning right, and coming onto the street we're on, into the right lane. The tail end of the left truck was JUST coming out of the intersection as the front of the right truck was rounding the turn. My taxi driver floored it and kinda like that scene from Planes Trains and Automobiles squeeked BETWEEN the two trucks (bare centimeters to spare on either side).
Its the only time I've had to pry my fingers off the "Holy Shit Handles" and tell the driver to let me out. |

This one I hate the most. It's pitch black dark outside, no street lights or anything, yet I can count 10+ cars in less than 5 minutes who are driving without their headlights on.

I enjoy the driving straight through the red light without slowing in the slightest maneuver. I get a ride home with coworkers each night and they drive straight through a bunch of lights.
Cab drivers do this all the time at night. I guess it really doesnt phase me anymore. |

Mine would be occupying the turning lane on the right in order to jump the queue of traffic waiting to go as soon as the light changes to green and in the process stopping anyone who wants to turn right. |

Im my town drivers have a habit of parking at about a 70 degree angle to the curb where parallel parking is required.....but the front of the car is still about 5 feet from the curb, and the rear bumper is halfway across the driving lane. |

Oh come on, what has to be the friendliest thing in the world. I have never seen another country's drivers give such courtesy as honking continuously when they are going to run a red light that has been red for over 5 seconds. Who else warns people they are going to do that
Though the French have come close. |

Right-hand turns from the center lane. And the famous, "block the waygook on the scooter from being able to pass, by wedging traffic-jammed car against curb after letting Korean delivery man past" manoever. |
