If I were to get my own place to live, could I get a visa if I just wanted to work part-time--say, 2 or 3 hours?
Does anyone know?
Or do I have to contact the dreaded Immi office directly to find out? |

The correct question is, "Can you find a sponsor?"
Yes, if you can find a sponsor you can get a visa - even with only 2 or 3 hours per day. |

Or less, but it usually involves the boss lying to Immigration. I've known about people who have pulled this off. |

You could try to get a company job or two.
They'd want your for an hour max a day. They pay well too. |

I was offered by a potential employer once to do exactly this. The answer is yes.. they can sponsor your visa.
The catch is that they word the contract in such a way that says you'll be working more or less like a regular contract. |
