suddenly, i can't open internet explorer the normal way.... just double-clicking on the icon. a window will open for a split second, and then close again for no reason.
the only way i can get around it is to click on the 'my computer' icon, and type in a url from that window. after that, it seems to work just fine.
i guess it's not a huge inconvenience, but it certainly strikes me as odd, and a bit annoying. otherwise my internet works perfectly.
has anyone else had this kind of situation? |

no, it's probably the shortcut "link" gone bad. Just delete the link and drag the one from the "start" menu to the desktop. Poof! Fixed. |

no. it's not that. i've found i also can't access links which open new windows. for example... if i were to click on the 'korean jobs' link at the top of this page, the same thing would happen. the window will open for a split second, and then shut itself down again. |

You could try installing a fresh copy of I.E.
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/default.mspx
You'd be surprised (at least I was when I first found out) to know that sometimes drivers just "stop" working (for some reason or another). |

Ahh... my dear friend, for that, you're going to have to start travelling backwards. |
